Questions about Black and white

Are my images uploaded when I make them black and white?

No. Scissor Image runs an image engine written in Rust and compiled to WebAssembly inside your browser tab. Your images are read from your device into the page's memory, processed there and saved back to your device. The site has no upload endpoint, and its Content Security Policy blocks the page from sending data to any other server.

Can I convert several photos at once?

Yes. Every photo you add is converted, and you download them together as a ZIP.

Is the file still in colour format?

It is a normal JPG or PNG with grey pixels, so it opens everywhere.

Is it free? Do I need an account?

It is free, with no account, no daily limit and no watermark added to your images. Because the work happens on your own device, there is no server cost per image for us to recover.
