Are my images uploaded when I convert images?
No. Scissor Image runs an image engine written in Rust and compiled to WebAssembly inside your browser tab. Your images are read from your device into the page's memory, processed there and saved back to your device. The site has no upload endpoint, and its Content Security Policy blocks the page from sending data to any other server.
Which formats can I open?
JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF and BMP in every current browser. HEIC photos from iPhones open in Safari.
Can I convert several images at once?
Yes. Add as many as you like and download them together as a ZIP file.
Is it free? Do I need an account?
It is free, with no account, no daily limit and no watermark added to your images. Because the work happens on your own device, there is no server cost per image for us to recover.
