How to resize an image

  1. Choose or drop your images.
  2. Enter the width, or switch to Percentage.
  3. Select Resize, then download the image or a ZIP.

Sharp results

Images are scaled with the Lanczos filter, which keeps edges crisp when shrinking. Enlarging cannot add detail that is not there, so keep it to small amounts.

Format

JPGs stay JPG at high quality, PNGs stay PNG, and other photos are saved as JPG. Transparency is kept.

Questions about Resize image

Are my images uploaded when I resize them?

No. Scissor Image runs an image engine written in Rust and compiled to WebAssembly inside your browser tab. Your images are read from your device into the page's memory, processed there and saved back to your device. The site has no upload endpoint, and its Content Security Policy blocks the page from sending data to any other server.

Can I resize several images at once?

Yes. With Pixels and Keep proportions, every image gets the width you enter and its own matching height. With Percentage, every image is scaled by the same amount.

Can I stretch an image to an exact size?

Yes. Turn off Keep proportions and enter both width and height.

Is it free? Do I need an account?

It is free, with no account, no daily limit and no watermark added to your images. Because the work happens on your own device, there is no server cost per image for us to recover.
